CALL FOR ALL FIGHTS! HELP NEEDED.

We are in the final stages of getting everything together and ready to put Luchas on your feet. Part of that is getting our website pretty and ready for your viewing pleasure. We have a section called "Fight With Your Feet" where we will post pictures of your fights (worthy causes you're fighting for) with a small explanation of what you're doing.

Most of our posts thus far haven't required any sort of comments or feedback from you. This one is different. We need your ideas of what you'll be fighting for and writing on the inside of your Lucha shoes. Please post what you're fighting for, and leave your email (or if you'd rather, you can email your fights to mglauser@luchashoes.com) so we can contact you to get more information and a picture. Some ideas for fights include fighting to overcome Leukemia (thanks Rachel Steele), fighting to finish a marathon, run a triathalon, lose weight, fight pornography, fight drugs, fight tobacco, fight hunger, fight arthritis, fight violent crimes, etc. You have better ideas than I do. So PLEASE SHARE THEM!!! Everyone is fighting for something. Tell us about it. The best fights will be rewarded.

Final Photo Shoot

We received our "top of production" samples a few days ago and after some excellent product engineering by Dave, we feel that we have our final product.

We have previously done a couple of photo shoots--one with Stacy Young at threewinksstudio for a product shoot and an "urban" photo shoot with Matt McDaniel. Both photographers were excellent and both gave us amazing photos. Another friend and photographer, Peter Chen, was generous enough to do another product shoot for us as our shoes have changed a little bit in the last few months and we wanted to be accurate in our pictures with the product actually being sold.

Happy Chinese New Year!!!

We at Lucha, LLC, would like to join our friends in China in celebrating the Chinese New Year. We decided to let our factory take a week or two off in order to celebrate. So our shipment will leave China after the celebrations are over and should get here sometime in March. We're finishing up the shipping details on our website and trying to implement a free shipping code for anyone who decides to pre-order when we go live with our website.

We're also excited to announce that we're working on sponsoring a couple of races this year.

We'd also like to thank everyone who keeps believing in us, who keeps asking when they can get some shoes, who keeps giving us contacts with other successful startups, and to those who want to see us succeed. It does help and we do appreciate it. So happy Chinese new year to all!

Forgiveness...

Dear Friends,

Please forgive us for not posting for the longest time. The holidays were great--even though we weren't able to get any Luchas underneath the Christmas tree. The latest and greatest from the production front is that our factory has received the materials and is now cutting everything out! Luchas are being born as we speak!

We have secured warehouse space to store the shoes and we are finalizing the shipment that is supposed to be on the boat within the next week!!!

Hopefully the Luchas will bring warm weather with them! We should have them here for your feet for springtime! We're fighting hard for it.

Gentlemen (and Gentlewomen) Start Your Engines and Nacho Libre

I can't think of anything much more exciting than the start of a NASCAR race, it's the 200 left-hand turns after the start that make me a little bored. :)

Even better than the NASCAR start is the fact that Lucha Shoes production has officially begun!!! After months of design, testing, and negotiation, we are finally getting down to the nitty gritty (thank you Nacho Libre). Our factory is now acquiring all of the materials needed for 2,000 pairs of Luchas.

And to quote one of my favorite movie heroes once again, Nacho calmly leaves us with this inspiration, "Tonight, I will fight the seven strongest men in town, maybe the world. And I will win because our Heavenly Father will be in the ring with me. And He and I will win 10,000 pesos."

Well Nacho, here's to your 10,000 pesos and our 2,000 Luchas.

Not so smooth.

I attended a nice Christmas party filled with cookie decorating, magic dollar games, a photo booth complete with mistletoe, and good friends. As I was conversing with a nice young lady about the Toms she was wearing, I explained Lucha Shoes and how we are going to provide a better shoe at a better price. She then mentioned that her Toms, which were brand new in August, were already wearing smooth on the soles. You can see by the frowny face that she is looking for a shoe that won't get smooth with her :) If we chance to meet a frown (about shoes), we'll quickly turn it upside down and smile that frown away. The rubber we use for our outer sole is strong and long-lasting.
