The book "Glorious Accidents" is an excellent resource for any entrepreneur. It is in essence an easy-read case study about many different successful entrepreneurs from small janitorial companies to Huntsman Chemical. This book was written by Michael J. Glauser, who isn't me. It's my uncle. I'm not sure if this is in the book, or if uncle Mike just told me this, but he said that when it comes to starting a new company, things always take longer, cost more, and are more complicated than you ever imagine when you start. We're finding this to be true.
Initially we were hoping to have shoes to sell in the early fall. Now we're hoping to get shoes by year end. Creating a website is more complicated than you think, legal fees are more expensive, and putting it all together is nothing short of a miracle. Marketing, sales, and advertising just add to the never-ending task list.
Have these things discouraged Dave and I? Nope. Absolutely not. It puts smiles on our faces as we thrive in the sheer challenge of it all. We're learning a ton and getting a better and clearer picture of where we're going and what we want to accomplish.
Thanks for your moral support and encouraging words. We're fighting hard to get you your new favorite shoes :)

Chilean Miners
I have been following the rescue of the trapped miners in Chile, and I must admit that when I was reading an article about it today, this portion tickled my fancy...
Pinera after his rescue, according to an Associated Press translation. "The 70 days that we fought so hard were not in vain. We had strength, we had spirit, we wanted to fight, we wanted to fight for our families, and that was the greatest thing."
These people were fighting for a good cause. They had strength, they had spirit, and they wanted to fight for their families. So here's to the good fight that brought 33 miners back to their families after being trapped for 70 days.
I say props to everyone involved in this amazing rescue effort that ended as well as it could have.

Product Shoot Photos
A few weeks ago, Dave and I worked with Stacy Young to do a product shoot for our website. Our website is getting close to being finished and it looks good. The product pictures that Stacy took look absolutely perfect. Props to Stacy and Three Winks Studio for making us look professional. Here's a sample of few of the pics.
